  1. Get 1 Cup cooked rice
  2. Prepare 1 Cup Curd
  3. Get 1/4 Cup Milk

  7. Take 1 tsp Channa dal
  8. Get 1 Red chilli

  14. Take 1/4 cup Broken cashews
  15. Make ready 1/4 cup Raisins
  16. Take 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  17. Get 1/2 Cup Pomegranate

In the state of Tamil Nadu it is called thayir saadam, and in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh it is called daddojanam. In Karnataka, it is called mosaranna. Comforting Curd Rice is a popular dish from South India where soft cooked rice is mixed with yogurt and then tempered with spices. The curd rice is easy on the stomach and tastes great with a side of pickle and papadum!

Instructions to make Curd Rice:
  1. Cook rice and mash them. Keep aside.
  2. In tawa heat ghee. Once hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Once mustard seeds splutter completely add channa dal and red chilli. Saute until channa dal fried crispy.
  3. Now add curry leaves, chopped ginger and green chilli. Now add chopped onion and saute until onion change light. Add hing. Now add broken cashews and raisins. Saute until cashews change to golden brown.
  4. Now add mashed rice, curd, milk and salt. Mix nicely until curd mix with rice thoroughly.
  5. Now add chopped coriander leaves and pomegranate. Serve immediately.

Add salt and sugar and keep aside. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and chana dal and wait till the dal turns light brown. Now add chilli, hing, cashews and curry leaves and allow these to sizzle. Curd rice recipe with step by step photos and video.
