This recipe does not belong to me! It was shared on the Baking and Cooking Group for Zimbabwean Women. I decided to trial it out as it was twicked a bit and a talented woman added Roux method to the recipe to make them.

The ingredients needed to make Zimbabwean Buns:
  1. Make ready 500 g bread or plain flour (4 cups)
  2. Prepare 1 tsp salt

  4. Pour the milk mixture in the centre and mix everything well
  5. Knead the dough till smooth and elastic and it does not stick to the hands
  6. Put in the dough an oiled bowl and apply a bit of the oil on the dough as well. Cover with cloth and put in a warm place to rise
  7. Let the dough rise to twice it's size
  8. Punch it down and knead for a minute. Divide into equal sized balls and arrange them in a deep baking tin.
  9. Cover and put back in a warm place and let rise to twice the size. Brush top of buns with milk mixed with melted butter
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 25minutes
  11. Heat the 2Tbsp of sugar and water till sugar is dissolved. Brush with hot syrup as soon as the buns come out of the oven to make them shiny
