  9. Make ready 1-2 tablespoon honey

And if you don't like cilantro, you can also use parsley or skip the fresh herbs altogether. The Mediterranean beets can be served hot or cold and taste great as a side dish or salad. Beets are one of my favorite. Allow the beets to completely cool down before preparing the salad.

Steps to make Sig's Beetroot, Garlic and Grape Salad:
  1. Either prepare your beetroot from fresh, cut away the leaves, wash, then cook the beet until soft. Wear kitchen gloves because the juice will stain, peel, then slice, then cut roughly. You can buy ready cooked vacuum packed beet that has not been pickled for ease. Remove from packaging then slice, cut roughly. Set aside.
  2. Peel the onion, thinly slice it, then crush the garlic, add both to the beetroot, mix gently.
  3. Season with salt and pepper. Make the dressing with the honey,creme fraiche (Philadelphia cheese or thick greek joghurt) and mayonnaise. Mix gently together. Add the grapes mix under. Season to taste. Serve garnished with a little parsley.

When they have cooled down, cut them into bite size cubes and put them in a bowl. Add your finely chopped onion to the beetroot. Take the rest of the remaining ingredients, i.e. brown sugar, olive oil, garlic, freshly ground black pepper and white grape. Sliced Bosc pears, crumbled feta, and a mix of butter lettuce, spinach, and romaine make this salad special. Toast the walnuts for added flavor, and toss the salad with a mild white wine vinaigrette.
