- Get 4-6 lb pork shoulder
- Make ready 1 liter orange juice

Add orange juice, lime juice, and garlic, then toss to coat. I used the Smithfield Sweet & Smoky Marinated Fresh Pork Roast as the base for this recipe and bumped up the flavors even more with some ginger, citrus and Marsala wine before turning on my Instant. This pulled pork dish made in the slow cooker is flavoured with soy sauce, honey, orange juice, garlic, ground ginger and other spices. Serve in rolls or baps with pan-fried red onion slices or coleslaw.
Instructions to make Orange Pulled pork:
- Chop veggies in large chunks.
- Combine all ingredients, except BBQ sauce, in slow cooker. You may need to add a few cups of water. Just make sure the pull pork is about halfway to 3/4 covered.
- Cook on low for 10 hours
- Remove pork and shred with forks. Leave pork set aside.
- Remove most of the liquid in slow cooker, leaving only about 1 cup, or more depending on how moist you like it.
- Add shredded pork and BBQ sauce back into the slow cooker, layers at a time. Mix. Keep warm and serve.
One important note about storing: store the pulled pork in the juices. Pulled pork is so versatile and you can do endless things with it.
